Meeting John has been a godsend in more ways than one. We have a unique log home with large logs and detailed stone work, and wanted a new deck off the second story game room. John designed and oversaw the entire project to perfection. He went to the log yard and hand selected the columns to match our house, worked with the mason to replicate the stone bases, and designed a custom railing that is exactly what we had in mind. It turned out better than either of us could have imagined. Thank you for turning our vision into reality.

John has been a blessing in my life. We first met when I contacted a local builder in Estes Park to help me design and build a house for a lot located in a well-known neighborhood near Rocky Mountain National Park. This neighborhood is filled with homes and cabins built in the mid 1900’s that were primarily occupied in the summer months by vacationing families who came to Estes Park to enjoy the mountains. The view of Longs Peak from the area is spectacular and the old cottages and cabins that dot the hillside are aging, but well-loved. I am especially fond of the neighborhood because my family was one of the many that made this tight-knit community their summer home.
I wanted to honor my memories by designing and building my new home in a way that would capitalize on the mountain views without overwhelming the community’s distinct historical charm. I was fortunate to have John as a partner in this process. He was a great listener, and he and I spent significant time at my lot making sure our design would become a natural part of the landscape and fit within the texture of the neighborhood. He answered the phone every time I called and was always on board for exploring new ideas and improvements to our plan.
His patience in the design process and attention to detail throughout the build were unparalleled. The resulting home is a beautiful little bungalow that takes full advantage of the landscape and has a design that is both practical and beautiful inside and out.
I would work with John again without hesitation. He has a keen eye for design, a broad range of experience, a kind heart, and a love for custom and historical features that make a house a home. I am glad that I met him, and proud to call him my friend.
